This is a short safari to Queen Elizabeth National park. It is designed for visitors that have less time in our beautiful country with hopes of sampling the best wildlife experience in Queen Elizabeth National park. Enjoy an amazing encounter with 100 species of mammals and over 600 species of birds all of which make your safari to Uganda an exclusively remarkable one.
Some of the mammals you should expect to see include four of the “Five African Big Five” namely Lions, leopards, elephants and buffalos. You will also interact with other animal species such as hippos, waterbucks, bushbucks among many other species- not forgetting the exclusive boat ride along the Kazinga Channel which adjoins Lake Gorge and Lake Albert. The spectacular sightseeing of the mountains of the moon (Rwenzori Mountains) is ready to welcome you to this magnificent national park.
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park
On this day you will be picked by our professional driver guide from the hotel or any place of residence in Kampala at 8am. This means you should have breakfast before 8am. You will drive to Queen Elizabeth national park, making a stop at the Uganda Equator to learn about the experiment which shows you how the earth bisects into two-the southern and the northern hemispheres (North Pole and South Pole). You will also look very charming in the photographs at this point! We shall not take long at this point, proceed to queen Elizabeth National park traversing the country side homesteads, plantation farms and cattle farms of long horned Ankole cattle which will be entertain you during the drive, arriving at Mweya safari lodge in the park during time for lunch. After lunch, you will undertake a two hour boat launch along the magnificent Kazinga Channel. The boat cruise allows an extraordinary experience with the breathtaking views of wild game and a variety of bird species as well as the views of Nile crocodiles along the banks. Anticipate encountering animals such as buffalos, elephants, antelopes and bushbucks among others as they come to quench their thirst from the channel. The shores are also decorated by various bird species which you should expect to see. After the boat cruise, you will be driven back to the lodge through the channel tunnel where you will encounter numerous grazing wild games as they prepare for the rest at night. Arrive at the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Queen Elizabeth National Park & return back to Kampala
On the last day of your safari, you will wake up early in the morning for breakfast before you embark on the most rewarding game drive starting at 7am. The game drive will be conducted in the Kasenyi plains and the Queens Mile, expect to see various wildlife such as lions, elephants, buffalos, antelopes, Oribis and Uganda Kobs among others. After the game drive, continue with the return back to Kampala, a stopover will be made at Igongo Cultural Centre for a yummy traditional lunch. You will have a chance to learn about the Ankole culture while here. Also, you can purchase some memorabilia to take back home. After lunch, we shall continue with the journey back to Kampala, arriving in the evening at the airport or any other preferred area in the vicinity.
