Drive from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park
On this day of your 10 Days safari in Uganda, you will be driven by our professional and experienced guide to the north-west of Uganda, through the famous Luwero Triangle. You will make an Enroute stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to marvel at the gigantic Rhinos-one of the African big five and one of the most endangered wild animals in the world. You will have lunch and continue to Murchison falls national park arriving in the evening. Overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge
Explore Murchison Falls National Park
After morning breakfast at your Safari lodge, you will embark on the game drive to explore the beauty of Uganda`s jungle! Expect to see animals such as Cape buffalos, Elephants, Rothschild’s giraffe, Waterbuck, hartebeest, Oribi, Bushbuck, Bohor reedbuck, hyenas and on a good day, there are high chances to encounter a lion and a leopard. You will be driven back to the lodge at the time when most of the animals have started hiding away from the scorching sunshine. Relax and enjoy your yummy lunch at the lodge as you get ready for the breathtaking boat cruise along the NILE starting at 2pm. Enjoy the thrill on the water as you view the big numbers of hippos in the river and the big crocodiles along the banks of river Nile. Also expect to see a number of wildlife species such as elephants, buffalos, Uganda Kobs and waterbucks as they come to quench their thirst from the Nile River. Also to see are the various species of birds during the boat cruise some of the birds include; Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, Goliath heron, cormorant and if you’re very lucky, you may also encounter the rare shoebill. The cruise lasts for about two hours while you enjoy the beauty of Africa on the Nile stretching for about 17km to the bottom of the falls. You will then disembark from the boat and take a slightly challenging hike to the magnificent top of the falls and the hike lasts for about 1hour to the top of the falls where the longest river in the world explodes violently through the narrow cleft to plunge into a frothing pool of about 43m below. This experience is definitely mesmerizing.
Your driver will be waiting to drive you back to the lodge for an overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge.
From Murchison Falls National park to Kibale Forest National Park
After morning breakfast, your will set off for a long drive southwards through Hoima to Fort portal traversing the country homesteads and farms Enroute. You will have a stopover in Hoima town for lunch and then continue, arriving in Kibale National Park in the late afternoon for relaxation and overnight at Primate Lodge Kibale.
Chimpanzee trekking in the morning & afternoon Bigodi Walk
On this day, you will have breakfast early in the morning before gathering at Kanyanchu tourist centre at 8am for a briefing as you prepare to embark on a trek for chimpanzees in the forest. Chances of seeing chimpanzees are very high up to 95% chances. Kibale forest national park is ranked among the breath taking and stunning ecosystem areas in Uganda and its is a prime capital of the primates in the region with over 13 species of primates including the rare chimpanzees, the Red-colobus monkeys, as well as the rare L’Hoest’s monkey, among others like grey-cheeked mangabeys, Pottos, Bush babies and Red tailed monkeys.
Chimpanzee trekking lasts for about 8 hours as you search for these cousins of man that were lost in the jungle! With no doubt, you will enjoy the lifestyle of the chimpanzees as they jump from one tree branch to another while eating fruits in the forest and if you’re lucky find a family with many toddlers, you will enjoy their games as the young ones come closer to you and run back into the tree branches. You will enjoy a variety of flora and fauna, birds, reptiles, insects and various species of butterflies which make Kibale National Park a much beautiful destination worth visiting. After an encounter with the chimpanzees, you will return to the lodge for lunch before preparing to take on a walk to the Bigodi swamp, a communally conserved area which inhabits a variety of attractions like birds and some other animals and well as local community activities that will surely not leave you the same way you came. Return to the lodge in the evening for relation, dinner and overnight.
Transfer from Kibale National Park to Queen Elizabeth National park
Your will have a relaxed breakfast in the morning and embark on a transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Enjoy the magnificent scenery of the mystical Rwenzori Mountains dubbed the mountains of the moon while on the way to the park. You will arrive in Queen Elizabeth National park during time for lunch and relaxation at Mweya safari Lodge. After lunch, you will take on the memorable boat cruise which begins at 2pm along the stunning Kazinga channel-adjoining Lake Edward and Lake George. The boat launch offers you the stunning views of gigantic hippos in the water, a big number of bird species along the banks, the Nile crocodiles as well as a variety of other wildlife including Buffalos and elephants among others which come to quench their thirst from the channel. To many people, this Kazinga channel boat cruise is considered as the highlight of the African Safari because of the experience it offers. The activity lasts for about 2hours as you cruise on the 40km channel. After the boat cruise, you will return to the lodge at the time when most animals are enjoying their supper. You will use the channel tunnel route to enjoy the short game drive Enroute to the lodge. Expect to see animals like elephants, buffalos and many antelopes. On a good evening, you can also encounter lions. Arrive at the lodge for relation, dinner and overnight.
Full Day In Queen Elizabeth National Park
You will have a very early morning breakfast together with packed lunch and get ready for a thrilling game drive starting at 7am along the Kasenyi plains to catch up with the early risers and nocturnals as they are returning to their hideouts. Expect to meet grazing hippos in the early morning, spotted hyenas, Lions, elephants, water bucks, bushbucks, jackals and of course comical warthogs among other wildlife. You may luckily spot a leopard in the morning. Continue to the Maramagambo forest for many surprises that await you there! You may find big pythons that are often observed in the crevices of the bat cave as they feed on bats, anticipate to see various bird species as well such as bat hawks, brown eared woodpeckers and as well many primates. Retreat from the game drive in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari lodge.
Transfer from Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park.
After your morning breakfast, we shall drive you with packed lunch to Kyambura gorge for look for habituated chimpanzees as we wind up with our visit to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Proceed to the Ishasha sector in search of the endangered tree climbing lions. The Ishasha sector is located south of Queen Elizabeth national Park and it is perhaps the best areas to view climbing lions because of its short acacia trees where these lions hide away from the scorching sunshine. Tree climbing lions are only found in the Ishasha sector and Lake Manyara national park in the whole world but they are best viewed in the Ishasha sector. The game drive lasts for about two hours, expect to encounter other species of animals as well such as elephants, buffalos and many antelopes. After the game drive, proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable national Park which is between 4-5hours drive arriving at Chameleon Hill lodge in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Gorilla trekking begins with a briefing at the park headquarters at 8am. This means you will have breakfast very early so that by this time are ready for the trek. At the briefing, they take you through the rules and regulations that are considered during the trekking of mountain gorillas in Uganda, as well as allocate you to particular gorilla families which you are supposed to track. After the briefing, you will embark on the gorilla trekking activity traversing through the almost impenetrable forest but using the already existing tracks that enable you to penetrate. You will be accompanied by the professional armed ranger guides to ensure your safety in the forest. These rangers will also help in guiding you to ensure a successful gorilla trek. Bwindi national park is a very thick forested park with rugged hills and slippery slopes which sometimes makes the trek quite challenging but possible. You will be entertained by the stunning sights of the rush flora and fauna, the various species of birds will be entertaining you with the melodies and the design of the forest which is decorated by the various bird species will surely catch your attention as you continue searching for mountain gorillas.
Upon sight of the mountain gorillas, here the best moments come! You will be welcomed by the Silverback (male Gorilla) this sometimes welcome visitors by beating in its chest as a sign of manhood, with its red eyes and appearance which makes you believe that you have really met your long lost cousins. Should you luckily trek a gorilla family that has toddlers, then the best moments are physically observed from even the very exhausted person as these little gorillas come to almost touch your clothes and run back to their parents. The gorilla trekking encounter takes between two to eight hours but the exact encounter lasts for strictly one hour which starts counting from the time you meet these gorillas. This limited time with the gorillas is purposely for conservation purposes and you are also advised to observe and respect the 7meter rule. At the end of one hour of observing mountain gorillas, it is certain that you will have enjoyed the worth of your dollars paid and you should have taken good pictures with these relatives of humans in the wild. Retreat from the forest and return back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Transfer from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Lake Mburo National Park
You will have an early morning breakfast at the lodge and checkout for a transfer to Lake Mburo National park for a boat cruise. You will make a stop at Igongo Cultural centre for traditional lunch and also learn about the fertile culture of the Bahima and Banyankole tribes of the western Uganda- where the future meets the past. Lake Mburo national park is a famous home for a variety of grazing wildlife such as elephants, buffalos, zebras, Impalas, elands and topis. The park also harbors a variety of bird species such as fish eagle, heron, pelicans, crested crane, and many other aquatic bird species including the rare shoebill; arrive Lake Mburo national park in time for the boat cruise to participate in this mesmerizing activity as you cruise on Lake Mburo while enjoying the rewarding views of various bird species and animals. Retreat from the activity in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight at Mihingo lodge.
Transfer from Lake Mburo National Park back to Entebbe International airport for Departure.
After morning breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and head into the wild for an Enroute game drive; look out for animals such as buffalos, elephants, giraffes among other animals. We shall also take you to forested areas of the park in search for various species of birds. Proceed with the drive to Kampala traversing the various towns and homesteads along the way. A lunch stop will be made at the Uganda equator where we will also have a chance to enjoy the experiment that shows the bisection of the world to form the northern and the southern hemispheres. While here, you can also purchase some memorabilia to take home in a remembrance for your visit to Uganda. Continue with the drive up to the airport for evening flight back home.
